There is a secret to getting followers. It's not a scheme or a software program or other unethical approaches that will get you banned on twitter. It's a method that is straight forward and easy. It takes time to build a following but you want to do it in a method that works. I used this method to gain thousands of followers on many twitter accounts. I wouldn't do things that are crooked or risk banning and losing my accounts and all my hard work. You want to gain followers without paying huge monthly fees for software programs that may be banned, become obsolete or worse, risk your account of banning. This method works.

Getting started!

The idea is to find twitter people that are quick to follow others like you, those that are active twitter accounts. Start by going on twitter and search using keywords of the topics you are writing about on twitter. The search function on twitter is on the right side. You will find people that are posting about the subject you are interested in. Start lists and give them different names, like subtopics of your topic. Add these active people to one of your lists. Remember to add your name to your own lists. People look at lists to follow others and you want to have a bunch of lists and add active twitter people. People will look to your lists to add people and find you as an expert of the topic. Many of them will add you to their lists or follow you.

Now must importantly. Go to these active people posting about your favorite topic and look at their followers. People that are following them. Take the top 3 of their recent followers and follow them. These are the active ones that follow people most quickly and will likely follow you. You will be on active follow and follower lists with your twitter name out there to gain followers! Some of them may not look good so you can skip some that look odd or people you wouldn't want to follow. Take the best looking name you follow of the 3 and go to that persons twitter page and look at their recent followers and take the best 3 at or near the top to follow. At any time you can start as you did at the beginning by looking for people in search that write about your topic and following their top 3 followers. Continue this approach.

The best ones that you added to your lists are the ones you will likely keep for a long time and see what they are writing about by clicking your list. You will want them to add you to their lists, many of them will, particularly if you reply to them at times. After a number of days and before you begin a new round of adding more to follow you can take a look at your follow list, go back a few pages and prune some out, that is unfollow some that do not look good. You can quickly scroll to see their last post and unfollow some that look like spammers. You are limited to how many you can follow based on how many follow you. For example you will be limited to about 2000 that you can follow until about 2000 follow you. So don't feel bad about unfollowing a spammer or some odd one.

Many people follow those that follow them. You will get around to following someone that follows you in what I call the flip side. That being, when you come across them as you look to add followers. If they never add followers you aren't likely to see their name on anyone's follower list so you really don't want or need to follow them. If they are really good and post good twitter messages you will come across them in searches and on twitter lists where you add them to your lists. Many of the schemes and software packages are costly and can do you more harm than benefit by risking your account being banned. This method works and won't cost you monthly fees for schemes to get followers. Remember to post twitter messages to be noticed and put good keywords that people will likely search for in your topic of interest. Now that you know secrets to gain followers you will become a whale or a jumbo whale in twitter.
